Consultation on implementing the Gender Goods and Services Directive (2004/113/EC)
The Gender Directive implements the principle of equal treatment between men and woman in the access to and supply of goods and services. The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister issued a consultation document entitled “Implementing EU Equality Obligations in Northern Ireland: The Gender Goods and Services Directive” on proposals for implementing Gender Directive. The consultation ran from 30 July 2007 to 21 September 2007. Draft EQIA carried out at a strategic level on Programme for Government, Budget and Investment Strategy.
The draft Equality Impact Assessment carried out a strategic level, considers the impacts which may be associated with the Executive’s policy and spending priorities as set out in the Programme for Government (PFG) and support by the allocation of resources as set out in the Budget and Investment Strategy.
The consultation process on the draft assessment ended on 23 April 2008. To date, officials have carried out public consultation meetings across Northern Ireland and will be meeting with other interested parties on request, such as the Equality Coalition and Disability Action.
