News on Racial Issues

In 2005 OFMDFM published the Racial Equality Strategy and A Shared Future. Both policy documents outline that improvement of relationships betweeen and within communities in Northern Ireland is a long term goal for Government. For the purpose of monitoring the success of the Racial Equality Strategy and A Shared Future 11 high priority outcomes which link to the aims and objectives of both strategies have been identified. In line with a commitment outlined in A Shared Future, OFMDFM established a 'Good Relations Indicators Working Group' to identify and develop a set of high level, outcome focussed indicators underpinning each of the priority outcomes in botrh strategies. These indicators are presented in this report.
