General Exceptions

The Order does not cover employment as a clergyman or minister of religion or any employment or occupation where the essential nature of the job requires it to be done by a person holding, or not holding, a particular religious belief or political opinion. The Order does not apply to the recruitment of teachers in schools in Northern Ireland but does apply to those already recruited.
