Monitoring the Equality Scheme
We monitor the implementation of our equality scheme and report on progress to its Departmental Board on a quarterly basis.
One of the requirements by the Equality Commission is that our Equality Scheme must include an Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) timetable which lists the Department’s policies planned for EQIA over the life of the scheme.
The Department has a rolling timetable to which new policies to be EQIA'd are added each year

Each public authority reports annually to the Equality Commission on their progress in implementing the equality and good relations duties under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. These reports must be submitted to the Equality Commission by the end of August each year.
