The current proposals to establish a Commissioner for Older People are set out in this consultation paper and the accompanying Draft Bill which represent the Executive’s current view on the best way to achieve that Programme for Government commitment.

As part of the consultation into a Commissioner for Older People a series of public meetings were held from 16 to 27 November, chaired by the Older People's Advocate, Dame Joan Harbison.
