Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland
On 14 November 2011, Claire Keatinge was appointed as the Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland.
The Commissioner for Older People Act 2011, passed by the Northern Ireland Assembly, provides Ms Keatinge with a wide range of promotional, advisory, educational and general investigatory functions, duties and powers to be deployed in the interest of older people both generally and individually.
The Principal Aim of the Commissioner is to safeguard and promote the interests of older people
