Financial Issues Unit
Financial Issues Unit is part of the Economic Policy Unit (EPU).
Role of the Finance Issues Unit
The unit is responsible for:
- Work with the Department of Finance and Personnel in the negotiations on the overall level of public spending in Northern Ireland and the allocation of financial resources in the support of the Programme for Government;
- Oversight and management of the Integrated Development Fund;
- Oversight and monitoring of the Economic Research Institute of Northern Ireland (ERINI) – ERINI is a company limited by guarantee, wholly owned by OFMDFM, it was established as a result of the Northern Ireland Executive agreeing to merge the NI Economic Council and the NI Economic Research Centre and create a new economic policy research organisation.
- Work with the Department of Finance and Personnel to monitor the effectiveness of current EU Funding Programmes and assist with negotiations on future levels of EU funding support;
- Management of EPU and Economic Policy Unit and Economic Policy and Public Service Directorate (EPPSD) internal financial resources; and
- Economic Policy Unit and Economic Policy and Public Service Directorate.
