Introduction

The Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister (OFMDFM) is one of eleven government departments headed by Ministers of the Northern Ireland Executive. It was established as a Department on 1 December 1999 following the devolution of power to Northern Ireland.
The work of the Department revolves around three inter-related roles -
  • to support the work of the Executive;
  • to undertake the departmental functions allocated to the First Minister and Deputy First Minister such as equality, human rights, victims, the Programme for Government, economic policy, EU policy and modernising government; and
  • to provide a service to other government departments.
As a central Department, we produce a wide range of information and through this Publication Scheme you will be able to find out about the information we publish, or intend to publish, where you can obtain copies of it and if there are any charges involved.
