Making a Request for my Personal Information
Requests for personal data are covered by the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).
If you would like a permanent copy of the data which you believe OFMDFM holds on you then a subject access request can be made by writing to the Departmental Information Manager.
To help us locate your information, it would be helpful if you could provide as much information as possible as to the specific areas of our business where we might hold your personal data. It would also assist our search if you could specify the type of personal data you are seeking, when you supplied your data to OFMDFM and for what purpose it was supplied.
The DPA includes provision to charge for subject access requests but the current NICS policy is not to do so.
You will need to provide adequate identification before your request is processed.
Once this has been validated we will provide a response within 40 calendar days.
We have a number of policies and procedures that are currently being updated.
