Civil Contingencies Group (NI) (CCG(NI))

The Civil Contingencies Group(NI) (CCG(NI)) is the public service strategic emergency planning policy review and development group.  The emergency planning and response arrangements developed and endorsed by CCG(NI) will be those used in a major emergency.  As well as developing policy, CCG(NI) would meet to co-ordinate the strategic government response to emergencies which involved a number of departments.  If the emergency was sufficiently serious the Crisis Management Group (CMG) would also meet with CCG(NI) in support.  It will normally be chaired by the Director responsible for the Civil Contingencies Policy Branch.  Its core membership will comprise officers from Northern Ireland Departments, representatives from the Executive Information Service, Food Standards Agency, Northern Ireland Office, district councils and the emergency services.
